February 14, 2010

MARCH 19-21

It is just a little more than thirty days until the Big Revival will begin. Tony Gentry from the Brookline church in the Springfield area will be here to do the preaching. He has been highly recommended. Plan to be in your place for the good preaching and fellowship. Get at least one person committed to be here. Also remember, on the Revival Sunday, March 21st, we will have an all church meal. Prepare plenty of food for your family and prepare some extra for others.

READ THIS

Diligently the search and work continues for a family to work with us as the Family and Youth Minister. Many have expressed interest in the work. You may wonder what must be done in bringing someone to work with us. Think about the following: One, support must be agreed on. Two, health insurance is a must and perhaps as you know, this is a major item for any family. Three, a place to live will be part of the total agreement. Four, if the Family/Youth Minister’s wife desires and needs to work outside the home, then that will have to be considered. Five, plans, programs and responsibilities of the Family/Youth man will have to be discussed. Six, much prayer must take place about all of this. Seven, the whole church must realize that to reach our goals we need an offering of about $3500 each week. Be excited. The Bible tells us to be a people of faith and vision. Let’s love, live and work for the Lord while we can because He loved, lived and died for us.

GREATEST

This could be the greatest year in the history of the Central church. We have some of the best Bible teachers that can be found anywhere. I have long thought that the yearly VBS is one of the highlights of the year. Here is a simple question. How can we make 2010 one of the best years of this church? Let me suggest one word and the word is more. Let’s do the following: attend more, smile more, pray more, rejoice more, enjoy more, teach more, encourage more, visit more, save more, love the Lord more and love one another more. Listen If all, both old and young, will challenge ourselves to do more of all these good things, then the church will have its greatest year. Let’s do it!

HIS COMING

Often I have thought about the time when Jesus will return at His second coming. Let me ask, if you knew the year, month, day and hour of His coming then what would you think and do? Would you be baptized? Would you be restored? Would you get things right in your marriage? Would you be a better person? Imagine yourself when you see Jesus coming in the clouds and this world is passing away and all things in life are in destruction. There is nothing left but you and you are standing before Jesus Christ in order to be judged? Are you ready for the final day? Get ready before it is too late.

LORD’S DAY

There is one thing for sure, if Jesus comes on Sunday morning, I want to be in the assembly of worship. If saved, then whenever the Lord comes you will be ready and that is His promise to all Christians. Every Lord’s day is a time to revive your soul and stir your heart in singing, praying, and preaching. Somebody has said, “One week without worship will make one weak.” Be in your place. Come early and stay late. Come with a Bible in your hand and a spring in your step and a smile on your face. I’ll look for you in your place.
