URGENT-URGENT-URGENT

We want to make an urgent plea for bus drivers. As some of you know because of age, our insurance will not allow some of our good and faithful drivers to continue. We need men and women who qualify to be willing to serve. Matt Chezem heads up this ministry and we thank him for his patience and kindness in this work. If you think you can help, will you talk with Matt as soon you can? If the buses go to bring the dear men and women to church then we have to have some good drivers. Please help.

PRAY & PLAN

Keep praying and planning for a future youth and family minister. There is much to be done. One thing we need to give attention to is our weekly offering. In a recent discussion the elders concluded that in order to operate each week it will take close to $3500 per week. Do you believe Central can do it? Surely it can be done. If everybody will give a little bit more then it can amount to a good offering each Sunday. Continue to pray and plan. Good things can happen to good people.

REVIVAL

A Revival Meeting is being planned for March 19th-21st. It will be Friday, Saturday and Sunday. The Central church has not had a meeting like this for some months and we want to encourage every member to be here and also begin to think of others you can invite. It will be a wonderful time of singing, praying and preaching.

TEACHERS

As the new year has begun there is something else that we need and that is additional teachers and helpers. While off a few days from school, Jim said that he and Lee had to be back on Wednesday night because of not being able to have enough teachers. If you could teach at least one quarter ever so often, it would help. Speaking of teaching and classes, in order to encourage and get better acquainted with all, the elders will visit different classes. If you want to ask anything when the elders visit your class, then feel free to do so.

FIRST DAY

Sometimes people may ask, “Why do Christians worship on the First Day of the Week?” One, the Lord was raised on the First Day of the Week (Mark 16:9). Two, the Lord met with the disciples on the First Day of the Week (Mark 16:14; John 20:19-20). Three, it is believed that Jesus gave the Great Commission on the First Day of the Week (John 20:21). Four, it is also believed that Jesus ascended back to Heaven on the First Day of the Week (Acts 9:11). Five, the church began on the First Day of the Week (Acts 2:1). Six, the early church met for the Lord’s Supper on the First Day of the Week (Acts 20:7). Seven, a special offering was taken on the First Day of the Week (1 Cor. 16:1-2). Eight, it is believed that John was in the Spirit on the Lord’s Day– the First Day of the Week (Rev. 1:10). Where should you be on Sunday? Come with a Bible in your hand and a spring in your step and a smile on your face. I’ll look for you in your place.
