GOOD NEWS

On Thursday, February 4th, preacher Danny Fox from Rogersville, MO called and he was excited. He had baptized his dad on Monday, February 1st. As he related the story it was emotional but as he gave the details I thought what a wonderful thing. There are some in West Plains who need to be saved. Make yourself happy and for sure you will make your family and the church family happy. In fact, there will be joy on the other side according to Luke 15:10.

SAD NEWS

A preacher gets all kinds of phone calls and most of those are about sickness, death or some tragedy. Today, February 5th, about 11:00 AM I received a call about a preacher’s wife at OMC and the fellow that called indicated that the preacher’s wife was seriously ill. I went to the hospital and her husband said, “The next two days are critical.” I am not complaining about calls or matters but just to relate that we are to be like Christ and while He was on earth, there were sad things and there were things of joy. As Christians may the Lord help us to be a blessing and minister to all.

BIG REVIVAL

Less than thirty days until our Revival will begin. Tony Gentry will be here to preach. The dates are March 19-21st. Plan your schedule so you can be here every service. Let’s have good singing, preaching, fellowship and attendance. Get someone committed to come. There is a great Bible example in Acts Chapter Ten. The man Cornelius got relatives and friends to the gathering. You can read this in Acts 10:24.

QUESTION

Here is a simple question for all members. What can we do to help save some? One, live a good life. I think of two places in Scriptures where the Bible pictures the power of a Christian life (Matt. 5:16; 1 Peter 3:1-6). Two, pray for others (Rom. 10:1). Three, be wise in the way we talk with others about being saved. Have the attitude as set forth in John 3:17. Four, we can speak in the words of John 1:39 and say, “Come and see.” Everybody can do something.

SUNDAY

There are some things that I really enjoy about Sunday. I will use the personal pronoun “I” but perhaps you can see yourself in its use. I feel close to the Lord in the assembly of worship. Often the words of Simon Peter come to my mind. “Lord it is good for us to be here.” On Sunday I am reminded of the price that was paid for our salvation. I enjoy the fellowship in the good things of worship and I get a blessing from all but especially I receive a blessing from the children. While we are strong and well, let’s plan to be in the gathering every First Day of the Week. Come with a spring in your step and a smile on your face and a Bible in your hand. I’ll look for you in your place.
